PUMPING THE BRAKES: Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy fires back over a viral news report about an Indian citizen in California banned from driving a commercial truck for not being proficient in English.
The Transportation Department joined Duffy in calling out the situation:
"This driver has been in the U.S. for TEN YEARS and does not know enough English to qualify for a trucking license. This is exactly why Sec. Duffy ordered FMCSA to crack down on English proficiency standards."
"Do you want to drive on American roads? Being able to understand English is the BARE MINIMUM."

County clerks across Michigan are uniting against the push for ranked-choice voting. In a rare bipartisan move, the Michigan Association of County Clerks voted unanimously to oppose the proposal, citing concerns over “voter confusion,” “fatigue,” and increased inconsistency in ballot results. They say ranked-choice would make elections more complex, not more fair — and could undermine confidence in the voting process.
