Chinese company Gotion High-tech, getting $715 million Michigan taxpayer dollars, seeks business with Iran

Gotion Inc.’s plans to build a multi-billion-dollar electric vehicle battery component plant in Mecosta County are drawing ever more scrutiny. The company’s connections to the Peoples Republic of China and the Chinese Communist Party are cited as a source of concern, particularly due to the proposed site being in close proximity to the U.S. National Guard facility outside Grayling.

That scrutiny has been intensified by revelations a delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran government and business officials met with Gotion officials at the company’s headquarters in China this past Saturday.

Dowagiac residents are suing a Hyperscale data center over constant noise from its cooling fans.

Two homeowners filed a federal class-action lawsuit claiming the 24/7 hum—measured at 58-62 decibels—invades homes, causes headaches, and prevents yard use, affecting over 1,300 nearby properties. The company, Alliance Cloud Services, plans a major expansion.
