UAW authorized a strike on Friday in negotiations with major automakers, according to the union.
The union voted 97% in favor of a strike for its 150,000 autoworkers as negotiations continue with the Big Three automakers, which include Ford, General Motors and Stellantis, according to a union press release.

The state of Michigan has abandoned plans for a controversial EV-battery parts facility by Gotion Inc., citing mounting concerns over Chinese ties and local pushback.
The plant drew strong opposition from residents and officials who were troubled by the involvement of a Chinese-owned parent company and large tax incentives for the project.

The White House is shutting down rumors of a pardon for rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. After TMZ claimed a top official said Trump was considering commuting Diddy’s sentence, a White House spokesperson fired back calling it “fake news,” saying the president alone decides pardons and there are no such plans. Diddy, sentenced to over four years in prison for prostitution-related charges, remains behind bars.
