In a landmark ruling that reverberates far beyond West Michigan, a federal judge has ruled that parents can move forward with a lawsuit against Rockford Public Schools, accusing the district of secretly helping their middle-school daughter socially transition to a male identity while hiding it from her parents.

On September 18, 2025, Judge Paul Maloney of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan said the parents, Dan and Jennifer Mead, have plausibly shown that the school violated their constitutional rights as parents by concealing their child’s new name and pronouns, altering official records, and carrying out what amounted to a “psychosocial intervention” without their knowledge.

Kirk Killer Text Messages Revealed (SECRET SHOW PREP 9-17-25)

- ABC NEWS WINS THE PRIZE FOR TRYING HUMANIZE CHARLIE KIRK'S (alleged) KILLER

Tyler James Robinson, 22, has been formally charged in Utah with seven counts in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. These charges include aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. Prosecutors are also seeking the death penalty.

Key Revelations from the Texts

Robinson allegedly left a note under his keyboard that said: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
After that, a message to his roommate (and romantic partner) where he confessed: “I am, I’m sorry.” when asked if he was the shooter.
On motive: he said “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.” This suggests he felt Kirk’s rhetoric was hateful and beyond compromise.
Planning period: the messages suggest Robinson had been planning the shooting “a bit over a week” before carrying it out.
Concerns about leaving evidence: he discussed how he hid the rifle, worries about prints, hiding the gun wrapped in a towel, worries about how to explain losing the rifle to his father.
He also asked the roommate to “delete this exchange” and told them not to talk to the media, and to consult a lawyer if questioned by police.
